What to do in Morocco?

Morocco is a kingdom of striking contrasts: the centuries-old medinas of Fès and Marrakech, the golden dunes of the Sahara, the lush valleys of the High Atlas, the beaches of Essaouira and a cuisine of captivating spices. Just a few hours' flight from Western Europe.

Marrakech

The Red City enchants with Jemaa el-Fna square, its labyrinthine souks, riads with secret gardens, the Majorelle Garden and rooftop restaurants.

Highlights : Jemaa el-Fna Square, Majorelle Garden, Marrakech Medina, Bahia Palace.

Fès

The oldest imperial city, whose UNESCO-listed medina is the largest car-free urban area in the world. Leather tanneries, the Bou Inania madrasa and medieval souks.

Highlights : Fès el-Bali Medina, Chouara Tannery, Bou Inania Madrasa, Dar Batha Museum.

Sahara Desert — Merzouga

The Erg Chebbi, golden dunes reaching up to 150 m in height, offer a night under the stars in a Berber camp and an unforgettable sunrise.

Highlights : Erg Chebbi dunes, Night in a camp under the stars, Camel trekking, Aït Benhaddou Ksar.

Essaouira

Coastal town with blue and white ramparts, battered by Atlantic winds. Former privateers' city, now a haven for surfers and artists.

Highlights : Sqala ramparts, Medina and Mellah, Essaouira beach — kitesurfing, Fishing port.

Chefchaouen

The Blue City, nestled in the Rif mountains, is one of Morocco's most photogenic towns with its blue and white painted alleys, fountains and timeless atmosphere.

Highlights : Medina — blue alleys, Plaza Uta el-Hammam, Ras el-Maa waterfall, Hiking in the Rif mountains.

Casablanca

Morocco's largest city and economic capital, Casablanca is often overlooked by tourists in favour of Marrakech or Fès — wrongly so. The Hassan II Mosque, with its 210 m minaret, the tallest in the world, is an architectural masterpiece overlooking the Atlantic. The Art Deco architecture of the city centre, the lively Anfa district and the seafront corniche reveal a modern, cosmopolitan city.

Highlights : Hassan II Mosque — 210 m minaret over the Atlantic, Art Deco district — 1930s colonial architecture, Corniche & Ain Diab beaches, Old medina & Habous quarter.
