Tripolar app and website — last updated: 20 September 2026 · Version française

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is De Souza Damien, sole publisher of Tripolar. For any question or request about your data, write to tripolar.contactsupport@gmail.com. You will receive an answer within one month, as required by the GDPR.

2. What Tripolar collects, and why

Tripolar can be used without an account: the map, the country pages and the weather are freely accessible. The data below is only collected if you create an account or use the matching features.

Tripolar does not collect your GPS location: the app never asks for location permission. Place searches rely on the destination you type, not on where you are.

Tripolar does not sell any data and shows no advertising.

3. Travel assistant (AI)

The assistant is reserved for signed-in accounts. The text of your messages, as well as the most recent messages in the current conversation, are sent to an artificial intelligence provider (Google or Groq, see section 4) in order to produce the answer. No data that identifies you is sent to them: not your email address, not your name, not your account identifier.

Your display preferences are also sent — language, departure country, currency and unit system — so that the answer is written in your language, expressed in your units, and does not assume a departure point that is not yours.

When you open the assistant from a trip you are preparing, the content of that trip is also sent, so that answers are about your own plan: the dates, the cities and the names of the activities you placed in it. The trip title, your notes, the descriptions and addresses of activities, and the people you share the trip with are never sent. Neither are your favourites or your expenses. If a trip is shared, activities added by other participants are part of the plan that is sent, without any information identifying them. Avoid writing sensitive or identifying information in your messages, or in the names of your activities.

The assistant never changes your plan: it advises you, and may point to an action already available in the app, which you remain free to perform or not. Conversations are saved in your account so that you can find them again; you can delete any of them at any time from the assistant's history. Answers are generated automatically and may contain errors: always check opening hours, prices and entry requirements with official sources.

4. Technical providers

Tripolar relies on the following services, which may process some data on its behalf:

Some of these providers are established outside the European Union. Any transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by an adequacy decision.

5. How long your data is kept

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability regarding your data. You can:

You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

7. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights over your personal information. They apply in addition to the rights described in section 6, and are exercised the same way: by writing to tripolar.contactsupport@gmail.com from the email address of your Tripolar account.

Requests are answered within 45 days. Tripolar verifies a request by checking that it comes from the email address of the account concerned; no other information is required. An authorised agent may act on your behalf with written proof of authorisation.

8. Children (COPPA)

Tripolar is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Creating an account requires an email address, and the service is designed for travel planning by adults.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has created an account, write to tripolar.contactsupport@gmail.com: the account and the associated data will be deleted, and you will receive confirmation once it is done.

9. Security

Exchanges with the application are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are never stored in clear text. Access to data is restricted by database-level security rules (Row Level Security): each user can only read and modify their own private data.

10. Changes

This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the application.
